The boxes you see here are "Navigation cells".

The Summary view: Seven high-level functional requirements for any "enterprise class" modeling tool (minim functionality for the tool to be viable)

The Expanded view: This adds in competency and knowledge requirements along with a set of Modeling Principles.

The Information Flow view: Shows the data and information that is required and how it flows between the 7 Modeling Capabilities. This view represents a framework for modeling itself.

The Service Views: Situates the Modeling Capabilities in their wider environment or context and overlays the idea of "Requisite variety" (as a basis for resilience and innovation).
