Often you simply want to get a picture of your diagram quickly and incorporate it into a Word report or PowerPoint presentation. There are a number of ways of doing this:
- Copy the objects on a diagram and paste them into some other application (problem is graphics quality can be poor while shape regions and drill-downs can be lost altogether)
- Use the diagrammer's File > Save As > Image function and create a graphics file (e.g. JPG, PNG)
If you need to get many pictures, the above techniques are not practical; therefore, use Auto Modeler's Extract Diagram Pictures option to automatically:
- Produce a PowerPoint presentation (problem is picture quality is poor)
- Print diagrams either directly to paper or to a PDF file
In addition, when you publish your model using Corporate Publisher, or use Communicator for Word to create an XML download, all the diagrams in your output are created as graphics files, which you can then reuse in other applications.
